The Departure
The departure is the first stage of a hero's journey. This stage consists of three steps. The call to adventure, refusal of the call, and the beginning of the adventure. Usually, this is the stage where the hero's life changes and he or she starts to get the sense of further adventure. The hero would usually be unconfident about making the decision to make a change in his life. Towards the end of this stage, the hero will then accept the challenge and leave the known standards of his or her world.
