Analysis
We think that Jonas is feeling like his job may be too difficult for him to handle because of his rules. How would you feel if you couldn't tell people about his amazing job. That’s not the worrying part though. Would you like to lie to people about your job, epically you family. Well that's what Jonas is going through right now. Even though Jonas may refuse to this job, he knows that he has an amazing job. Jonas is also a very nice and kind kid. He likes to do a lot of volunteer work. He is very smart as in talking because he thinks before he says things.
Now that you know Jonas, meet Asher. Asher is the total opposite of Jonas, Asher talks a lot without thinking and he gets himself into trouble a lot. As we know Jonas gets to be the receiver of memory. This is very significant because he gets to be the one and only one to hold these secret memories than no one else knows of. With this power, he has a chance to impact his community significantly.
At first, Jonas is a bit confused on what he is suppose to be doing at the annex with the giver. He knows that he needs to be focused in his training, in order to succeed in his work. We know he doesn't want to screw things up because the last Receiver of Memory messed up. He takes place in some memories that the giver transmits to Jonas. One was about him learning about love.
Evidence
Pg. 54 Paragraph 7
